Gateway LT2108u 10.1-Inch Red Netbook - Over 8 Hours of Battery Life Review
When netbook came out a few years ago I thought it was boloney. After years of lugging a 15″ and 13″ laptop around, my shoulder got tired. I really don’t do heavy 3d application when I am out or at a coffee shop, so the internet surfing and email checking netbook fits the bill. I was torn between paying for a iPad or the cheapest netbook that could actually stream video on the go.
Gateway LT2041u 10.1-Inch Red Netbook - Over 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review
I purchased this netbook about a month ago and I can’t put it down. I take it everywhere. The display is crystal clear and the keyboard is just the right size. It does collect finger prints, but as long as you don’t touch the display who cares. I had only one issue so far and the service was great. I can’t say it’s the fastest (2 weeks), but it’s fixed. I had to have the keyboard replaced under warranty. Let’s just say it someone got a hold of it when daddy wasn’t looking. I was able to get it from Amazon for 9 with free shipping…I put in a Western Digital Scorpio 320GB 7200RPM drive…upgraded the memory to 2GB…and put in a 8GB SD card for ReadyBoost (didn’t see a difference with the ReadyBoost). I was able to clone the hard drive, so I didn’t lose any special software or setup. The best part was I didn’t have to try and reinstall an OS. The processor is ok…the reason why I bought this model is because I can’t stand the touchpads on the newer netbook models and there really isn’t that big of a difference between the N280 and N450 chipset. This netbook is completely loaded. It’s perfect for small applications, surfing the net, and doing email. I just put MS Office 2010 Beta on it without any issues. This is my first Gateway and being a computer specialist I was a little nervous, but not anymore.
Review by ming (USA) 2010-09-07 I got this netbook for 2 weeks. I like music more like 20 minutes, it makes a loud noise and lock. I have to reboot to get back to work....
Review by Southern Belle (MS) 2010-09-05 This netbook is great because it has a keyboard almost normal size. I use it to surf the web, email, download e-books, and movies. As others have said, the sound quality is not great ... The speaker is on the bottom of the netbook, but I use headphones, so there is a huge problem...
Review by zojo (USA) 2010-08-31 just bought this red-ASUS Eee 1015PED-PU17 (-RD).
Bluff: products - so far the battery life, good size and light weight, Blutooth ready Sound - speakers horrible (can not be overcome with headphones), keyboard uncomfortable positions (prone to typing errors), poor to capture weak signals wifi...
Review by K0rzybski (USA) 2010-08-25 The netbook has arrived a day before Amazon, estimated that she was beautiful. Great looking netbook. I put in the battery unit, inserted into the AC and gave it a full 18 hours charging (8 recommended). I was very disappointed to find that not to open the Netbook. No hard disk...

Review by David Wolf (U.S.) 2010-08-29 Some months ago I received one of the alternatives to this netbook 1005PE, and was very impressed with her. What has happened to me, is important for potential buyers of the current entry, as well. Bear with me as any potential buyer must be aware of what could happen if a d...
Review by disappointed (LODI, CALIFORNIA) 2010-08-22 Is not very fast, has a moderate ability, etc. It 'used to read e-mail great for surfing the Internet, and the replacement of a radio to listen for the night when the reception sucks. We wanted an alternative on the radio in our cabin and weekends ago. We think it was a good choice. As...
Review by A. Gorman (CALIFORNIA) 2010-09-04 It took a little 'getting used to circumvent and Windows 7 quirks mode, but the computer is a machine tons of memory little more than the Acer I had to deal with the first (and, ultimately, is death on me as the warranty expired). It is worth spending a bit 'more and better product quality...
