Samsung N510 Series Netbook (Black) Review

Samsung N510 Series Netbook (Black)
I was very skeptical at first to invest in a “netbook” given the limited power specs since I have been used to using power desktops/notebooks but this little guy has proved me wrong. As I haven’t performed extensive usage of this product, so far it hasn’t let me down.

The first generation of netbooks was apparently a real let-down according to another computer guy. However after a year, I began seeing their use in the school atmosphere and thought it would be extremely useful to invest in such. I have tried using all other brands of netbooks but none really seemed to fit my criteria than the Samsung in terms of specs and feel. I will narrow down the pros and cons…

Samsung NC10-13P Netbook - Up to 6 Hours of Battery Life Review

Samsung NC10-13P Netbook - Up to 6 Hours of Battery Life
I bought this netbook for school less than a month ago. It is pretty good and the battery life lasts long. I like the color, size, and the touch pad is also very sensitive. The keypad is also very easy to type unlike my old one that has a really small keypad. I am very satisfied with this purchase except for one thing: the description says the battery life is 6 hours, but my netbook almost overheated in less than 5 hours. It is probably no difference from a 3 cell battery.

Samsung GO N310-13GBK 10.1-Inch Jet Black Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life Review

Samsung GO N310-13GBK 10.1-Inch Jet Black Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life
I am very pleased with the product, just what you need if you just like to surf the net and check email at home and do not want to be tied down to your home pc. Its very nice to sit on the couch and watch tv and also surf the net, its faster than my home pc. Its definitely rugged and simple to use, keyboard is easy typing with big keys. I am only getting seven hours on the battery though according to the battery indicator and they say up to nine. If you want some freedom in the home while playing on the computer you will realize this is one of the best things you can buy as i can take it on my deck and surf the net.

Samsung's low-key entry in the netbook fray brings us the 10.2-inch Samsung NC10 netbook. With so much competition, especially for the larger ten-inch mini-notebooks like the Eee PC 1000 and MSI Wind, which has Samsung to connect with their existing mobile phone and laptop portfolio to the table?

The biggest difference is the memory, a 160GB cracking of whom do not have Internet storage. That is twice as heavy storage of the MSI Wind, and 4 times the amount on theBaseline Eee PC 1000 models. It is of course the Eee PC 1000H, but you'll pay fifty pounds more than the Samsung - RRP £ 299th

Samsung GO N310-13GMB 10.1-Inch Mint Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life Review

Samsung GO N310-13GMB 10.1-Inch Mint Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life
This is the most beautiful color light blue! And the computer is wonderful. After all of my research, I’m glad I went with the Samsung Go. My kids have already watched movies online through netflix and no problems at all. And that is with the memory that came with the computer-no upgrade. I would highly recommend.

  • 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor
  • 1GB DD2R RAM
  • 160GB Hard Drive
  • Windows XP Home, Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life (6 Cell 8850mAh)
  • 10.1″ wide LED-backlit LCD display

Samsung NC10-14GBK 10.2-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

Samsung NC10-14GBK 10.2-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Cell Battery
After doing my online research, I determined this is what I wanted based on reports and reviews. It was on a bit of a sale when I bought it, so that didn’t hurt either.

I use this netbook as my primary work computer as a software engineer. It gets a lot of daily use, including typing and internet browsing (man pages aren’t for me).

Pros:

* Great battery life. I’ve had it report up to 10 hours remaining at times, although it was with networking off and screen dimmed. With screen at max, on network, I can reliably get 5 hours.

Samsung N130-13P 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 5.8 Hours of Battery Life Review

Samsung N130-13P 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 5.8 Hours of Battery Life
I had the black version of this exact model.

Liked the matte finish - most netbooks have shiny frame around screen and often shiny plastic around keyboard and fingerprint-attracting exterior. Liked the low fan noise - some netbooks are like a miniature chainsaw in a quiet room. The keys have nice feel and have good tactile feedback.

Had to return it to store because I couldn’t type reliably on the keyboard.

The small key size wasn’t the issue.

Samsung N140-14B 10.1-Inch Sapphire Blue Netbook - Up to 7.5 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Samsung N140-14B 10.1-Inch Sapphire Blue Netbook - Up to 7.5 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
Everything works as advertised, and I even like Windows 7 Starter. This replaces an older Asus running Linox. The keyboard ergonomics are good for a small computer, and battery life has been excellent.

  • 1.66GHz Intel N280 Atom Processor
  • 1GB Memory
  • 250GB Hard Drive
  • 10.1″ LED Widescreen Display, Intel GMA 950 Graphics
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition, Up to 7.5 Hours of Battery Life
